Away in a Manger has two common melodies. The version I just uploaded is the William J. Kirkpatrick melody. The other popular melody is by James R. Murray. Perhaps a separate Wikifonia entry should be made for the Murray version.

In the Kirkpatrick melody, the pitch rises over the first few measures. In the Murray melody, the pitch starts high and falls over the first few measures.

There are also slight differences in the lyrics between the Kirkpatrick and Murray versions. The lyrics I have used are the Kirkpatrick lyrics as published by Hal Leonard Corporation. A search of the internet reveals many, many slight variations in the lyrics to Away in a Manger. The lyrics currently listed on Wikisource.org match those published by Hal Leonard.
